Job summary

M&G plc is seeking a Category Manager to own the Enterprise Software category, crafting the strategy, savings plan and supplier negotiations. You will engage senior stakeholders with insights, lead high-value sourcing events and drive value across the business.

The role requires deep software category knowledge, strong commercial judgment, and experience in complex vendor negotiations. London or Stirling base with UK-wide scope and flexible working.

Qualifications

• Substantial category management or strategic sourcing experience in enterprise software.
• Experience negotiating high-value contracts with major vendors.
• Strong commercial judgement with total cost of ownership and should-cost analysis.
• Credibility with senior stakeholders and the ability to influence without formal authority.
• Desirable: CIPS or equivalent professional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the Enterprise Software category strategy and savings plan.
• Lead high-value sourcing events and negotiations with vendors.
• Act as trusted commercial adviser to senior stakeholders across the spend area.
• Collaborate with offshore teams to ensure category execution and governance.
