Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated English tutors to provide 1:1 support for students in the Leeds area. We arrange tailored sessions to help students reach their full potential.

Role involves delivering English tutoring during 10 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm. Pay ranges from 20 to 30 per hour; DBS and safeguarding checks are encouraged but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• QTS (desirable) or previous experience with 1:1 tutoring
• Proven track record of improving student performance
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable) and DBS registered

Job Title: English Tutor (1:1 Support)

Location: LS29

Hours: 10 hours a week. To be held between Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm

Pay Rate: 20 - 30 per hour

Students: Year 8 Student, working below ARE

About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and experienced English tutors to provide 1:1 support to students in the Leeds area. We work with local authorities and councils to arrange these 1:1 tuitions for students currently accessing alternative provision. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students who may require additional support to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring session in English
• Support students in improving academic performance and confidence
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• QTS (desired but not essential) or previous experience working with students on a 1:1 basis
• Proven track record of improving student performance
• Team Teach qualification (highly desirable, but not required)
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued within the last year is desirable; training can be provided if needed)
• DBS registered on the update service

To be Eligible for this Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years
