Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEMH English Teacher to start in Hemel Hempstead from 2 November 2026. The role focuses on small groups (2–8 pupils) and personalised teaching to help pupils re-engage with English.

QTS is preferred but unqualified teachers with strong English experience will be considered. DBS Update Service or willingness to apply is required, with the possibility of a permanent role and clear progression.

Qualifications

• QTS preferred, though relevant unqualified teaching experience will be considered.
• Experience teaching English at KS3/KS4 level.
• Experience with SEMH pupils is advantageous.
• Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Teach English to KS3 and KS4 in an Alternative Provision setting.
• Manage small classes (~2–8 pupils) with personalised instruction.
• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons.
• Support SEMH pupils and maintain strong pupil relationships.
• Collaborate with a close-knit team and leadership for CPD.
