Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEMH English Teacher for a specialist setting in the NN12 area (Towcester). This full-time role offers an immediate start to support secondary students aged 11-16 with social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will deliver engaging English lessons, differentiate to meet individual needs, work with a multidisciplinary team, and help students build confidence, resilience and communication skills. A QTS/QTLS and an enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching English at secondary level.
Strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management.
Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable young people.
Patient, adaptable and resilient.
Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Differentiate learning to meet individual student needs.
Support students in developing confidence, resilience and communication skills.
Manage behaviour positively and effectively using a restorative approach.
Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and reports where required.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and wider school staff.
