Job summary

PK Education are assisting a Sheffield secondary school in recruiting a Teaching Assistant for the English department, starting September 2026. This is a specialist role within English, not general classroom support.

The successful candidate will work with students across KS3/KS4, delivering literacy interventions and supporting reading, writing and focus in lessons. Collaboration with teachers and the SEND department is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or within education.
• Strong communication and literacy skills.
• Patient and supportive approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Interest in English, literacy, or education.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students within English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Delivering small group literacy interventions.
• Providing targeted support for students requiring additional help.
• Encouraging engagement and confidence within lessons.
• Working closely with teachers and the SEND department.
