Job summary

PK Education are assisting a Sheffield secondary school in recruiting a Teaching Assistant for the English department, starting September 2026. This is a specialist role within English, not general classroom support.

The successful candidate will work with students across KS3/KS4, delivering literacy interventions and supporting reading, writing and focus in lessons. Collaboration with teachers and the SEND department is essential.

English Department Teaching Assistant Sheffield

Location: Sheffield
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £110 £130 per day (dependent on experience)

PK Education are working with a secondary school in Sheffield who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work specifically within their English department from September 2026.

This is not a traditional general classroom support role. The successful candidate will become part of the English faculty, supporting students across KS3 and KS4 within English lessons, intervention groups, and literacy support sessions.

You ll work closely with class teachers to support students who may struggle with reading comprehension, written work, confidence in lessons, or maintaining focus within the classroom environment.

The department has a strong team culture and places a huge emphasis on improving literacy, engagement, and confidence across the school.
