Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong English background to join a SEND school in Silverstone, Northamptonshire.

The role is full-time, maternity cover, with potential for a temp-to-perm opportunity. You will plan and deliver English lessons, support pupils with reading, writing and communication, and work closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalised learning in a small, supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Strong English subject knowledge and experience delivering English lessons.
• Experience planning and preparing learning activities for diverse learners.
• Experience working with SEND/SEN/SEMH pupils is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare engaging English lessons and activities.
• Deliver English sessions to individuals and small groups.
• Support pupils with reading, writing, spelling and communication.
• Adapt teaching and resources to meet individual SEND needs.
• Support pupils working towards Functional Skills and English qualifications.
• Take responsibility for lessons or activities when required.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver effective learning.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback.
• Support positive behaviour and maintain a calm learning environment.
