Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an English and Maths Tutor for a Year 11 student in Nuneaton. The role involves 15 hours of tutoring per week, mainly in the student’s home, with a focus on supporting SEND needs and delivering personalised tuition.

Do you have experience supporting students with SEND needs on a one-to-one basis?

Can you deliver engaging English and Maths tuition to a Year 11 student?

Are you patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships with young people outside of a traditional classroom environment?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision supporting a Year 11 student with SEND needs in Nuneaton. Tuition will take place within the student’s home, providing a supportive environment where the student can engage with their education and work towards their academic goals.

The provision is looking to take on an English and Maths Tutor on a long-term basis for 15 hours of tuition per week. The successful English and Maths Tutor will provide one-to-one English and Maths support, adapting sessions to meet the student’s individual SEND needs and helping them to remain engaged and make progress.

The successful English and Maths Tutor will have:

• Experience teaching or tutoring English and Maths at secondary level, ideally up to Key Stage 4 / KS4
• Experience supporting students with SEND needs
• Experience delivering one-to-one tuition or personalised learning
• Strong knowledge of the English and Maths curriculum
• The ability to adapt sessions to meet individual learning needs
• A patient, resilient and engaging approach
