Job summary

Saputo Nuneaton is recruiting an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding plant on a 4 on / 4 off shift. You’ll maintain and improve automated packaging lines, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, and support new line deployments alongside a multi-skilled team.

Experience with TPM, CMMS and lean manufacturing will help you optimise performance and reduce downtime across two production areas, using fault-finding methods and data to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineer with hands-on reactive experience in production/manufacturing.
• Experience with fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and TPM is desirable.
• CMMS experience and ability to interpret plant data to drive improvements.
• PLC fault-finding experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain multiple automated production lines and packaging equipment.
• Optmise line performance to meet KPIs for reliability and efficiency.
• Capture and record plant performance data for continuous improvement.
• Perform maintenance to support a predictive approach and prevent failures.

The Saputo Nuneaton plant is currently going through a phase of significant financial investment, and we are building new lines, so we have plenty of opportunities in our Engineering team!

Saputo Engineers are hands‑on, working on reactive engineering requirements across two packaging production areas, and taking key roles in the continued drive towards a one‑site mentality.

You will work on both mechanical and electrical requirements, bringing strong fault‑finding methodologies and expertise.

• Block cutters
• Slicers
• Graters
• Weight checkers
• Formers
• Belt conveyors
• Elevators
• Rollers
• Case packers
• Robotic arms (KUKA)
• Automatic pallet wrappers

Shift Pattern and Salary

4 on / 4 off – 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off etc.

Day shift is 06:45 - 19:00, Night shift is 18:45 – 07:00

£57,371 + site bonus scheme up to £800 per annum

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

• Maintaining multiple lines of automated systems, slicers, scales, bagging, sealers, and packaging equipment
• Optimising line performance to meet and exceed KPIs in the areas of equipment reliability and efficiency
• Ensuring appropriate information on plant performance is captured and recorded
• Completing maintenance activities to drive a predictive approach to tasks and prevent equipment failures

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…

• A multi‑skilled engineer with an HNC or HND background
• Able to demonstrate hands‑on reactive experience with a broad range of equipment and machinery within a production and/or manufacturing environment
• Able to carry out fault‑finding with PLCs (nice to have, not a prerequisite)
• Able to demonstrate working experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques
• Experience working within a TPM environment
• Comfortable using CMMS and able to interpret data to increase plant efficiency and identify top loss
