Saputo UK is seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to support two packaging production areas, driving reliability and efficiency across automated lines. You will handle mechanical and electrical maintenance, using fault-finding methods on a range of equipment including Robotic arms (KUKA) and conveyors.

After significant financial investment leading to us having 18 packaging lines on site, we are looking to hire a shift engineer to support the shifts and play a key role in the continued evolution of the engineering department and strategies.
This is a hands-on role, where your responsibilities will be working on reactive engineering requirements across two packaging production areas, and will be key in the continued drive towards a one-site mentality.
Within the role, you’ll be working on both mechanical and electrical requirements, and we will look to you to bring strong fault-finding methodologies and expertise.
Equipment you’ll be working with:
Block cutters, slicers, graters, weight checkers, formers, belt conveyors, elevators, rollers, case packers, robotic arms (KUKA), automatic pallet wrappers.
Shift pattern: 4-on (2-days/2-nights – 6.45-7) / 4-off
Salary: £54,790 p/a
Maintaining multiple lines of automated systems, slicers, scales, bagging, sealers, and packaging equipment
Optimising line performance to meet and exceed KPIs in the areas of equipment reliability and efficiency
Ensuring appropriate information on plant performance is captured and recorded
Completing maintenance activities to drive a predictive approach to tasks and prevent equipment failures
A multi-skilled engineer with an HNC or HND background
Able to demonstrate hands-on reactive experience with a broad range of equipment and machinery within a production and/or manufacturing environment
Able to carry out fault-finding with PLCs (nice to have, not a prerequisite)
Able to demonstrate working experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques
Experience working within a TPM environment
Comfortable using CMMS and able to interpret data to increase plant efficiency and identify top loss
