Job summary

Activate Learning is seeking a proactive Machinery Workshop Technician to join our Engineering team at Reading College. You will help deliver high-quality practical teaching by ensuring workshops, equipment and learning environments are safe, well maintained and fully equipped.

Working closely with teaching staff, you will support learners during practical activities, manage workshop resources and stock, maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and students.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or above) required.
• Experience in an engineering workshop or similar environment.
• Good understanding of engineering equipment, machinery and workshop practices.
• Experience maintaining tools and workshop equipment; accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Support learners during practical activities in Engineering workshops.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety and keep equipment well maintained.
• Manage workshop resources and stock; provide technical support to staff.
