Job summary

Hewett-Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Tutor specialising in welding and fabrication to deliver engaging training to apprentices and adult learners in Worcester, with weekly travel to Hereford. The role features a dual arrangement (part-time and full-time) with a competitive benefits package.

You will plan lessons, support learners through apprenticeship standards, liaise with employers, and ensure assignments align with awarding bodies.

Qualifications

Level 3 qualification in engineering
Experience in welding
Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing/engineering
Full UK driving licence
Teaching or training qualifications preferred
Apprenticeship-trained background
HNC in Engineering
Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, EAL qualifications, Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

Responsibilities

Plan lessons, schemes of work, and learning resources
Support apprentices to achieve apprenticeship standards and qualifications
Liaise with employers and Learning & Development Specialists regarding learner performance
Ensure assignments meet awarding body requirements

Engineering Tutor – Welding and Fabrication

Location: Worcester - travel to Hereford site once a week

We are really excited to be working with our client Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Association and supporting them in looking for an experienced Engineering Tutor specialising in welding and fabrication to deliver engaging, high-quality training to apprentices and adult learners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who is passionate about education, coaching, and developing the next generation of skilled engineers.

As an Engineering Tutor, you'll deliver technical knowledge and support learners throughout their apprenticeship journey, ensuring they develop the skills and understanding needed to succeed in industry.

Key responsibilities of an Engineering Tutor include:

Planning lessons, schemes of work, and learning resources
Supporting apprentices to achieve apprenticeship standards and qualifications
Liaising with employers and Learning & Development Specialists regarding learner performance
Ensuring assignments are completed in line with awarding body requirements

About You

Level 3 qualification (or above) in an engineering discipline
Experience in welding
Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems
Full UK driving licence
Passion for supporting and developing learners
Previous teaching or training experience
Apprenticeship-trained background
Teaching, Assessor or Verifier qualifications
