Job summary

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Association is seeking an experienced Engineering Instructor to deliver high-quality training to apprentices and adult learners. Based in Worcester, you will travel to the Hereford site once a week to support cross-site learning and employer engagement.

You will plan lessons, assess progress, and mentor learners, drawing on a strong engineering background. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a competitive package and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Teaching, training, assessor or verifier qualifications.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and engineering qualifications.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, Prevent and British Values.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging engineering training to apprentices and learners.
  • Plan and prepare lesson materials, schemes of work, and training resources.
  • Monitor learner attendance, progress, and achievement.
  • Provide constructive feedback and prepare learners for assessment.
  • Support apprentices through regular reviews and development discussions.
  • Liaise with employers, colleagues, and stakeholders to support learner success.

Key Responsibilities of an Engineering Instructor
  • Deliver engaging engineering training to apprentices and learners
  • Plan and prepare lesson materials, schemes of work, and training resources

  • Provide constructive feedback and prepare learners for assessment
  • Support apprentices through regular reviews and development discussions
  • Liaise with employers, colleagues, and stakeholders to support learner success

What We're Looking For
  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant engineering discipline
