Are you an experienced Engineer who would enjoy passing on your skills and knowledge to the next generation of apprentices?

We are looking for someone who can deliver training in CAD and Hand Fitting.

Applicants from any engineering discipline are encouraged to apply, particularly those with CAD experience and a passion for developing future talent.

The role is based at our training centre in Worcester, based within our Engineering department.

The purpose of an Engineering Instructor:

• Contribute to a well sequenced curriculum plan for the specified apprenticeship programme.
• Ensure delivery is appropriate to the learning group and relevant to the qualification.
• Motivate and support learners to optimise their potential.
• Give timely and constructive feedback to learners, both in delivery sessions and through written or verbal means, when work is submitted for tutor review/assessment.

The successful applicant will ideally:

• Experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering workplace.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence when working with people of all ages and abilities.
• Be enthused by passing on their own skills and knowledge to apprentices
• Update their own training delivery skills, through an ongoing CPD programme.

We are seeking qualified engineering professionals to join our team and contribute to the continued success of our Further Education Department and Engineering Apprenticeship programme.

The role requires an experienced engineer who can effectively transfer their knowledge, skills, and industry experience to support and inspire the next generation of engineers.

Previous classroom-based teaching or tutoring experience is desirable, though not essential. A background in electrical engineering would be advantageous; however, applications are welcomed from engineers across all disciplines.

HWGTA is seeking a passionate and experienced Welding & Fabrication Learning & Development Specialist / FE Tutor to join our growing Engineering Team in Worcester.

This exciting dual-role opportunity combines (can be one full time position or two part time roles):

Apprenticeship Coaching & Assessment (0.5 FTE)
Welding & Fabrication Teaching & Training (0.5 FTE)

About the Role:

As part of this rewarding position, you will divide your time between delivering high-quality welding and fabrication training in our workshops and classrooms, and supporting apprentices in the workplace through coaching, assessment, progress reviews and employer engagement.

You will play a key role in helping learners develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed in their careers while ensuring an exceptional learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging welding and fabrication training to apprenticeship learners.
• Develop and maintain schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Adapt delivery to meet individual learning needs.
• Prepare learners for assessment and achievement.

Learning & Development Specialist:

• Coach and support apprentices throughout their learning journey.
• Work closely with employers to ensure effective training plans are in place.
• Monitor learner progress against apprenticeship standards.
• Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with ESFA and Ofsted requirements.

What we are Looking For:

• Welding & Fabrication qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Relevant industry experience within welding and fabrication.
• Passion for teaching, coaching and developing others.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities.
