Job summary

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Association is seeking an experienced Engineering Instructor to deliver high-quality training to apprentices and adult learners in Worcester, with weekly travel to Hereford. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, offering a competitive benefits package and DBS support.

You will plan and prepare lessons, monitor attendance and progress, provide constructive feedback, and conduct regular learner reviews.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing/engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to motivate and support learners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging engineering training to apprentices and learners
  • Plan and prepare lesson materials, schemes of work, and training resources
  • Monitor learner attendance, progress, and achievement
  • Provide constructive feedback and prepare learners for assessment
  • Support apprentices through regular reviews and development discussions
  • Liaise with employers, colleagues, and stakeholders to support learner success

Engineering Instructor

Location: Worcester - travel to Hereford site once a week

Job type: Full time - Monday-Friday

We are really excited to be working with our client Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Association and supporting them in looking for an experienced Engineering Instructor to deliver high-quality training and support to apprentices and adult learners. Key Responsibilities of an Engineering Instructor
  • Deliver engaging engineering training to apprentices and learners
  • Plan and prepare lesson materials, schemes of work, and training resources
  • Monitor learner attendance, progress, and achievement
  • Provide constructive feedback and prepare learners for assessment
  • Support apprentices through regular reviews and development discussions
  • Liaise with employers, colleagues, and stakeholders to support learner success

What We're Looking For
Essential:
  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to motivate and support learners of varying ages and abilities
Desirable:
  • Apprenticeship-trained background
  • Teaching, training, assessor or verifier qualifications
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and engineering qualifications
  • Understanding of safeguarding, Prevent and British Values
