Job summary

First Bus in Glasgow is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead a busy depot’s engineering team, oversee planned and reactive maintenance, and ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards.

You will manage vehicle availability, support stock control and warranty processes, and drive engineering excellence with a focus on safety and reliability across the fleet.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering.
• Experience supervising teams and safe workshop operation.
• Organised and IT literate.
• Full UK driving licence; PCV licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the maintenance and servicing of the fleet alongside the Engineering Manager.
• Induct and develop an engaged, talented, and high performing engineering team.
• Efficiently allocate planned and unplanned work across the engineering team, including covering on the day absence.
• Ensure the availability of vehicles in line with operational requirements.
• Support the Stores Manager to ensure optimum management of stock and warranty processing.
• Maintain accurate records for all aspects of engineering standards and performance.
• Conduct disciplinary, grievance or absence reviews per Company policy.
• Collaborate with depot operations and engineering teams to manage service performance.

Contracted Hours: 38 hours per week

Working Hours: 5 days over 7 (including 1 weekend in 3) dayshift - start/finish times can be discussedat interview

Salary: £48,382.70 per annum

About You

• Do you hold an NVQ Level 3 orequivalent qualification in an Engineering field?
• Do you have knowledge of safe operation of workshop equipment and previous supervisory experience?
• Are you organised and IT literate?
• Do you have a full clean UK Driving License? A PCV licence is desirable, but not essential
