Job summary

British Airways Engineering Gatwick is seeking a Shift Manager to lead and develop a technical team, delivering a safe, professional engineering operation to defined performance metrics. The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of Technical Standards and Airmanship, and collaboration across the wider engineering business.

You will drive quality, safety and engagement with unions and stakeholders. Essential qualifications include an Engineering Degree or equivalent and an Aircraft

Qualifications

• Demonstrable structured leadership or equivalent experience.
• An Engineering Degree or other suitable qualification.
• An Aircraft Maintenance B1/B2 Licence or suitable experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shifts production to meet technical, quality and airmanship standards.
• Engage with trade unions, colleagues and partners; model leadership and brand behaviours.
• Drive shift performance in safety, quality, operational and commercial terms; ensure safe working environment.
• Develop colleagues’ skills to support engineering requirements and talent pipeline.
