Job summary

British Airways Engineering Gatwick is recruiting a Shift Manager to lead, develop and motivate a technical team. You will ensure safe, compliant shift operations and uphold quality and airworthiness standards across production.

You’ll drive continuous improvement, manage training, engage with unions and stakeholders, and model professional standards in line with BA brand values. The role requires strong leadership and hands-on engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable structured leadership or equivalent experience.
• An Engineering Degree or other suitable qualification.
• An Aircraft Maintenance B1/B2 Licence or suitable experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for technical, quality and airmanship standards of shift production.
• Drives engagement and builds relationships with trade unions, colleagues, stakeholders and partners.
• Delivers shift performance on quality, safety, operational and customer, financial and commercial, and colleagues.
• Provide a safe working environment, drive and maintains safe and secure working practices with professional standards of work and housekeeping.
• Develop colleagues’ skills, capabilities and qualifications to support the operational requirements and talent pipeline for Engineering.
