Job summary

British Airways Engineering Gatwick is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader (UK CAA B1) to oversee 20+ mechanics, ensuring scheduled maintenance, inspections and defect rectification are delivered safely and on time.

You will lead compliance with environmental, quality, health and safety standards, organise work, coach team members, sign off tasks and drive improvements to reduce aircraft downtimes. A challenging role at a historic airline with wide benefits.

Qualifications

• UK CAA Pt66 B licence required.
• Minimum 3 years aircraft heavy maintenance experience.
• Experience leading teams in aircraft maintenance.
• Base Maintenance authorisations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead team to comply with environmental, quality, health and safety standards.
• Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Organise and allocate tasks to meet targets.
• People management and disciplinary actions per policy.
• Coach, perform 1-1s and develop team members.
• Improve schedules and reduce aircraft downtimes.
• Provide technical leadership for maintenance tasks.
• Sign off work on completion within approval scope.
• Communicate effectively within the organisation.
