Pioneer Selection Ltd seeks an Engineering Shift Manager for a UK manufacturing site in Milton Keynes. The role combines leading a team of maintenance engineers with hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding and planned maintenance.

You’ll direct 12-hour shifts (days and nights) and drive improvements to maximise uptime. The successful candidate will be apprentice-trained with a recognised engineering qualification, and have experience in an industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on maintenance including pre-planned, reactive and breakdown tasks.
• Experience leading or managing a team of maintenance engineers.
• Apprentice-trained with recognised engineering qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front, supporting the engineering team and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Oversee uptime and efficiency improvements across machinery.
• Drive projects, PPM schedules and training/development of engineers.
• Balance hands-on maintenance with team leadership and strategic planning.

ENGINEERING SHIFT MANAGER

Job Title: Engineering Shift Manager

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £72,000

Shift: Days and Nights 12 hour

Job Role of the Engineering Shift Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Engineering Shift Manager to join a state-of-the-art, fully automated manufacturing site. The Engineering shift Manager will be leading a team of maintenance engineers whilst remaining hands on with electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, PPMs and breakdowns. The Engineering Shift Managers role is 80% hands off focusing on leadership, Projects, PPMs and Training and development of the engineers.

You will lead from the front, supporting the engineering team, coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring maximum machinery uptime and efficiency.

• Maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands on experience with pre-planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast paced industrial factory.
• Previous experience leading, supervising or managing a team of maintenance engineers.
