Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is seeking an Engineering Shift Manager for a modern, fully automated manufacturing site in Milton Keynes. The role focuses on leading a team of maintenance engineers while remaining hands-on with electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and PPMs.

You will drive uptime and efficiency by coordinating maintenance activities, supporting the team, and delivering training and development opportunities. The position involves leadership with a strong hands-on element.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained with a recognised engineering qualification.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.
• Experience leading or managing a maintenance/engineering team.
• Strong hands-on maintenance and fault-finding ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of maintenance engineers and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Balance hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance with leadership and training.
• Drive preventive maintenance programmes, fault-finding and downtime reduction.
• Ensure maximum machinery uptime and efficiency on a fully automated site.

ENGINEERING SHIFT MANAGER

Job Title: Engineering Shift Manager

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £72,000

Shift: Days and Nights 12 hour

Job Role of the Engineering Shift Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Engineering Shift Manager to join a state-of-the-art, fully automated manufacturing site. The Engineering shift Manager will be leading a team of maintenance engineers whilst remaining hands on with electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, PPMs and breakdowns. The Engineering Shift Managers role is 80% hands off focusing on leadership, Projects, PPMs and Training and development of the engineers.

You will lead from the front, supporting the engineering team, coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring maximum machinery uptime and efficiency.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Engineering Shift Manager

• Maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands on experience with pre-planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast paced industrial factory.
• Previous experience leading, supervising or managing a team of maintenance engineers.

Requirements for the Engineering Shift Manager

• Must be Apprentice Trained
• Recognised engineering qualification.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing or leading a maintenance/engineering team.
• Strong hands on maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Willingness to remain hands on and support the engineering team with maintenance activities.
