Job summary

Pioneer-Selection-Ltd in Milnrow is seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Supervisor to lead a highly automated manufacturing facility. The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable engineering support and driving improvements in performance and efficiency.

You will manage the on-shift engineering team, coordinate maintenance activities, oversee fault-finding and breakdown repairs, and ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently with a strong drive for preventative maintenance

Location: Milnrow

Salary: £56,000–£60,000

Shift: Monday–Friday, rotating early and late shifts

Job Role of the Engineering Shift Supervisor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Shift Supervisor to join a state-of-the-art, highly automated manufacturing facility. The site has recently invested in its operations, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their leadership skills and progress their career.

The facility operates high-speed production and packaging lines, with a strong focus on efficiency, quality, food safety and continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for leading the engineering team on shift, coordinating maintenance activities, overseeing fault-finding and breakdown repairs, and ensuring production machinery operates safely and efficiently. You will also drive preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and maximise Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Engineering Shift Supervisor

• Previous experience supervising or leading an engineering team within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical or multi-skilled engineering background.
• Hands-on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
• Experience managing engineering priorities and minimising production downtime.

• Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), root cause analysis and preventative maintenance systems.
• Experience managing spare parts and maintenance records.
