Job summary

SYSTRA in London is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a growing engineering team delivering multi-disciplinary design inputs across full project life-cycle from conception to operation, with a focus on safety, quality and value for money.

You will coordinate with clients, asset owners and designers, implement robust management systems, manage schedules and risks, and develop staff through mentoring and performance reviews in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a design management role with stakeholder engagement.
• Experience on civil or building projects in the UK with railway interfaces.
• Line manager responsibility for design/technical managers.
• Effective communicator with the ability to align team and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Produce and manage the Engineering Management Plan for allocated projects.
• Implement systems to maintain cost effective, high quality, safe and environmentally responsible design.
• Assess and monitor engineer competence and provide guidance and briefings.
• Apply engineering controls and ensure contracts reference relevant standards.
• Lead IDC reviews, manage schedules and deliverables, and supervise team members.
• Review designs, calculations, drawings and contract documents for compliance.
