Job summary

Stirling Warrington Limited is recruiting an Engineering Manager to lead the site engineering function, drive asset reliability and implement continuous improvement across maintenance and capital works. You will shape strategy, develop the team and partner with stakeholders to deliver sustainable performance gains.

The role requires strong leadership, technical depth in maintenance and a track record of delivering engineering improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading, developing and motivating engineering teams.
• HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments with asset management focus.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and reliability strategies.
• Track record delivering engineering improvements and capital projects.
• Experience managing budgets and investment planning.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration across functions.
• Analytical and data-driven problem solving skills.
• Experience managing contractors and external service providers.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, setting clear objectives and driving performance.
• Contribute to site strategy and align engineering activities with business priorities.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve equipment availability and efficiency.
• Drive proactive maintenance through planned, preventative and predictive programmes.
• Improve asset reliability, availability and overall engineering performance.
• Manage engineering budgets, maintenance expenditure and capital investments.
• Develop and optimise CMMS and related systems to improve compliance and performance.
• Maintain high health and safety standards across engineering activities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analyses to reduce losses.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, suppliers and service providers.
• Oversee contractor activities, ensuring safe, efficient delivery to standards.
• Support succession planning and long-term engineering capability development.
• Promote accountability and collaboration across the function.
