CPS Group are supporting an established financial services organisation in Cardiff to recruit an Engineering Manager. This brand-new role leads an engineering team, drives delivery improvements and shapes the future of the technology function.

You will oversee engineering strategy, platform modernisation and collaboration with product teams. Strong communication with stakeholders and experience across Java/Oracle or large-scale platforms are valued.

Formación

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong delivery and process improvement background.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is advantageous.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Understanding of Java/Oracle or similar large-scale platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, develop and manage a team of software engineers.

CPS Group are supporting an established financial services organisation who are growing their Product Engineering team and looking to recruit an Engineering Manager.

This is a brand-new position created due to growth, offering the opportunity to lead an engineering team, improve delivery processes and help shape the future of the organisation's technology function.

The Role:

• - Lead, develop and manage a team of software engineers.
• - Improve engineering processes, delivery performance and software quality.
• - Support the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and new ways of working.
• - Work with technical leads on engineering strategy and platform modernisation.
• - Oversee project delivery, resource planning and team performance.
• - Work closely with product teams and senior stakeholders to align technical priorities with business needs.
• - Promote strong engineering standards, testing practices and reliable software delivery.

Required Experience:

• - Proven experience managing and developing software engineering teams.
• - A strong software engineering background, with the ability to understand code and challenge technical decisions.
• - Experience improving team performance, delivery and engineering processes.
• - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• - Experience with Java, Oracle or large-scale web platforms would be beneficial.
• - Exposure to AI-assisted development, platform modernisation or financial services would be advantageous.
