Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking an Engineering Manager for Application Security in the EMEA region (Remote, UK). You will lead security engineering squads, drive automation, and shape security posture across cloud and on‑premise components.

The role emphasizes coaching, risk‑based prioritization, and collaboration with product and engineering teams. You will partner with security leadership to define strategies, review threat models, and guide incident readiness while maintaining strong communication

Qualifications

• Prior experience running a security engineering team.
• Strong engineering background with ability to engage in technical discussions and drive decisions.
• Comfort working with autonomous engineering teams and product-minded leadership.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security trends and shifts to guide teams.
• Approach security with a DevOps mindset: enablement, automation and guardrails.
• Familiarity securing and operating public Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; translate security problems to business impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the application security team across multiple domains (app, cloud, internal tooling).
• Oversee 1st and 3rd party vulnerability management and coordinated disclosures.
• Define and implement the engineering strategy with leadership and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular coaching, feedback and alignment to keep the team motivated.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to shape product strategy, roadmaps and designs.
• Lead incident preparedness, simulation, response and customer communications.
• Review design documents and ensure projects are well-defined and decomposed into tasks.
