Job summary

The Mullany Fund is seeking an Engagement and Growth Officer to boost school participation in its bilingual e-mentoring programme and to recruit Wales-based STEM businesses for work-experience placements, sponsorship, and wider support. The postholder will also build partnerships with universities and funders.

Qualifications

• Recent experience of working in, teaching in or closely supporting secondary schools.
• Up-to-date knowledge of work experience and work-related learning in schools.
• Understanding of school structures, annual cycles, workloads and barriers to engaging teachers.
• Strong track record of influencing busy stakeholders and driving participation.
• Confident presentation, relationship-building and written communication skills.
• Experience coordinating projects or programmes and maintaining accurate records.
• Five or more GCSEs including Maths and English; a university degree.
• Strong digital skills.
• Full driving licence, access to a vehicle and ability to travel regularly across South Wales.
• Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
• Understanding of barriers faced by young people experiencing educational disadvantage.

Responsibilities

• Build productive relationships with school leaders, teachers, careers staff and other contacts.
• Present a clear case for TMF reflecting schools' work-experience needs.
• Understand each school's timetable, priorities and constraints.
• Equip and motivate teachers to identify, persuade and support students to join the programme.
• Deliver engaging school presentations and follow up to convert interest into participation.
• Identify and secure Wales-based STEM businesses for work-experience placements and sponsorship.
• Support funding applications, impact reporting, and stakeholder communications.
• Represent TMF at meetings and events; maintain accurate engagement records and monthly updates.
• Uphold safeguarding, child-protection and equality responsibilities.
