Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead major multidisciplinary FEED and Detailed Design projects within the Transmission and Distribution team of the Energy unit. You will drive delivery of complex engineering projects across the UK and Europe, enhancing PM practices and delivering value to clients.

The role requires a proven track record in managing complex design projects within an engineering consultancy context, with NEC contract awareness and a focus on safety,

Qualifications

• Recognised project management qualifications (APM PMQ, PRINCE2, PMP).
• Engineering, project management degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven delivery of complex multidisciplinary design projects in consultancy or energy sectors.
• Knowledge of change management, risk management, scheduling and cost management.
• Ability to make complex decisions and promote health, safety and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Understanding of contract terms and commercial aspects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Desirable experience in Transmission and Distribution energy sector.
• Exposure to all lifecycle phases of projects.
• Experience working with industry contractors and managing associated risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multi-disciplinary design projects (civils, cable, substation, protection & control, and secondary systems).
• Deliver to scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
• Build relationships with senior client stakeholders and internal teams.
• Establish clear and effective communication across project teams.
• Take ownership of problem-solving and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage internal and external commercial aspects of projects, including NEC contracts.
• Identify and mitigate project risks for client and business.
• Promote health, safety, and wellbeing across all project activities.
• Work effectively on several projects concurrently to meet tight deadlines.
