Job summary

Mint Selection is recruiting a General Operative Manager to support delivery of a major Energy Storage project based in Exeter. You will lead a team of General Operatives, coordinate daily activities and ensure site safety and housekeeping to programme.

This long‑term contract offers the chance to work with a leading principal contractor on critical energy transition work. Strong leadership, CSCS and SSSTS/SMSTS are valued, with references and a full UK driving licence desirable.

Qualifications

Experience managing General Operatives on construction, infrastructure or energy projects.
Valid CSCS Card (Essential).
SSSTS or SMSTS preferred.
Two strong, recent work references.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Full UK driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate a team of General Operatives across the project.
Plan and allocate daily work activities.
Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained across the site.
Coordinate site logistics, material movements and deliveries.
Support the Site Manager and Construction Management team with day-to-day operations.
Ensure all operatives work safely and in line with site health & safety procedures.
Monitor productivity and ensuring works are completed to programme.
Conduct daily briefings and maintaining a safe, organised working environment.
