Job summary

Mint Selection is recruiting for a Working Supervisor / Telehandler Operator to support an energy storage project in Exeter. You will supervise a small team while also operating the telehandler and assisting with general site activities.

This long-term contract role requires a hands-on supervisor with a valid telehandler ticket, CSCS, and a strong commitment to health and safety. Experience on construction or energy projects is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Working Supervisor or similar on construction, renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler ticket.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• SSSTS or SMSTS preferred.
• Hands-on supervisor capable of overseeing operatives throughout the day.
• Strong understanding of site health and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.
• Two strong, recent work references.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of operatives on site and maintain hands-on involvement.
• Operate the telehandler to move materials and equipment safely around site.
• Coordinate daily work activities and ensure tasks are completed to plan.
• Support the Site Manager with day-to-day site operations.
• Manage material deliveries, storage and site logistics.
• Assist with loading, unloading and distributing materials where required.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping at all times.
• Carry out daily briefings and promote a strong health & safety culture.
• Monitor productivity and ensure works progress to programme.
• Complete site records and report progress to Site Management.

Mint Selection are currently recruiting for a Working Supervisor / Telehandler Operator to support the delivery of a major Energy Storage project based in Exeter.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest energy infrastructure projects, working alongside a leading principal contractor delivering critical energy transition projects. This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to supervise a small team of operatives while also operating the telehandler and assisting with general site activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervising a team of General Operatives on site


• Operating the telehandler to move materials, plant and equipment safely across site


• Coordinating daily work activities and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently


• Supporting the Site Manager with day-to-day site operations


• Managing material deliveries, storage and site logistics


• Assisting with loading, unloading and distributing materials where required


• Ensuring high standards of housekeeping are maintained at all times


• Carrying out daily briefings and promoting a strong health & safety culture


• Monitoring productivity and ensuring works are completed to programme


• Completing site records and reporting progress to the Site Management team

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Working Supervisor, General Foreman or Supervisor on construction, renewable energy or infrastructure projects


• Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler Ticket (Essential)


• Valid CSCS Card (Essential)


• SSSTS preferred (SMSTS advantageous)


• Ability to supervise operatives whilst remaining hands‑on throughout the working day


• Strong understanding of site health & safety procedures


• Excellent communication and organisational skills


• Full UK driving licence desirable


• Must be able to provide two strong, recent work references
