Job summary

Mint Selection are supporting an Independent Power Producer (IPP) seeking an experienced Electrical Site Engineer on a contract basis to support the construction and delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Exeter.

This hands-on, site-based role provides technical oversight of electrical installation works, ensuring activities are delivered safely, to programme, and in line with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Electrical Site Engineer on major infrastructure, power or renewable energy projects.
• Experience supporting the construction of utility-scale electrical installations.
• Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems and site installation practices.
• Experience working on BESS, substations, renewables or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight of all electrical installation activities on site.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Support inspection, testing, commissioning and energisation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Manager and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant standards, project specifications and HSE requirements.
• Assist with quality inspections, snagging activities and project handover documentation.

Scope of Work

• Provide engineering oversight of all electrical installation activities on site
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards

Certifications & Requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• ECS/CSCS card
• SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK

This is an opportunity with a September / October start available.
