Job summary

Mint Selection seeks an experienced Electrical Site Engineer on a contract basis for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Exeter. • Proven experience as an Electrical Site Engineer on major infrastructure, power or renewable energy projects.
• Experience supporting construction of utility-scale electrical installations.
• Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems and on-site installation practices.

Responsibilities

Role - Electrical Site Engineer (Contract)

Location - Exeter

Mint Selection are supporting an Independent Power Producer (IPP) who are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Engineer on a contract basis to support the construction and delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.

This is a hands-on site-based role, providing technical oversight of the electrical installation works, ensuring activities are delivered safely, in line with project specifications, programme requirements and industry standards.

Scope of Work

• Provide engineering oversight of all electrical installation activities on site


• Monitor contractor performance to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards


• Review electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation


• Support inspection, testing, commissioning and energisation activities throughout the project lifecycle


• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Manager and subcontractors to resolve technical issues


• Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant standards, project specifications and HSE requirements


• Assist with quality inspections, snagging activities and project handover documentation

Experience to be Considered

• Proven experience as an Electrical Site Engineer on major infrastructure, power or renewable energy projects


• Previous experience supporting the construction of utility-scale electrical installations


• Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems and site installation practices


• Experience working on BESS, substations, renewable energy, utilities or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Certifications & Requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)


• ECS/CSCS card


• SMSTS or SSSTS preferred


• Full UK driving licence


• Right to work in the UK

This is an opportunity with a September / October start available.
