Job summary

Northern Powergrid invites applications for Works Co-ordinators to join the Domestic and Small Business Connections team. Positions based at depots across the operating area with location confirmed during the recruitment process; start date 11 January 2027.

You will coordinate planning and delivery of Low Carbon Technology connection works. We seek candidates with strong customer service, project management and IT skills, GCSEs in Maths/English and a clean UK driving licence; DBS check may be

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and ability to deliver high-quality service.
• Experience with electrical testing on domestic and/or industrial low voltage equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
• Proven project management experience and ability to plan and deliver.
• Team player with strong collaboration across internal/external parties.
• Strong problem-solving skills to deliver jobs on time and within cost.
• Ability to liaise with contractors and manage relationships.
• GCSE Maths and English at C/5 or above.
• IT skills including Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of the electricity distribution network.
• Hold a full clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Works coordination and management of varied projects safely and to time, cost and quality.
• Effective site management of resources, including direct labour and contractors.
• Prioritise workload, make decisions and identify cost-effective delivery solutions.
• Communicate with customers, Low Carbon Technology providers and stakeholders delivering a 10/10 service.
• Support weekly operational contract meetings with external service providers.
• Process applications for payment in a timely and efficient manner.
• Carry out site audits in respect of safety, quality and contractual obligations.
• Order materials for use by service providers.
• Create electronic job packs to convey delivery of works.
• Manage outage planning for allocated projects.
• Attend evening and weekend customer appointments when required.
