Job summary

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is advertising a Clerical Officer (NHS AfC Band 3) on a fixed-term basis. The role requires knowledge of Endoscopy patient pathways and proficient reception duties within the Endoscopy Unit.

The post is cross-site between North Tees and Hartlepool with 37.5 hours per week; salary £25,760–£27,476 pro rata per annum. DBS checks apply and there is an emphasis on accuracy and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• Experience of clerical work in a customer focused environment.
• Ability to manage own workload and plan admin tasks.
• Demonstrate good attention to detail and data checking.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• IT qualifications (ITQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 2 in Business Admin/Customer Care).
• Experience of working in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Book endoscopy diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Communicate with multi-disciplinary medical and surgical teams.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and guidelines; meet waiting times and pathways targets.
• Identify when extra capacity is needed and coordinate with Endoscopy teams.
• Carry out reception duties including patient check-in via TrakCare.
• Utilise Trust IT systems and equipment to support operations.
• Maintain standard operating procedures and liaise with staff from other services.
• Organise interpreters as required following Trust policies.
