ALABARÉ is a charity that provides accommodation and support for individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges, including armed forces veterans, young people, adults and those with learning disabilities.

We’re seeking an Enablement Transition Officer for Young People Leaving Care to provide practical advice on housing, life skills, welfare benefits, health and personal issues to help service users move towards independence.

• Experience in working with vulnerable young people is essential.

• Provide support and advice around accommodation, basic life skills, welfare benefits, health and personal issues to help service users move towards independent living.
• Work as part of a team or on own initiative and be flexible in moving between houses to meet service needs.
• Car driver essential with access to a roadworthy vehicle and business insurance.

Job description

Salary: £26,968.50 - £27,787.50 Per annum after probation

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week on a flexible rota covering 7 days a week and will include weekends, bank holidays and an expectation of 2 sleep ins per week. Additional payments of £70 for each Sleep in.

All about the role:

As an Enablement Transition Officer for Young People Leaving Care you will provide support and advice around accommodation, basic life skills, welfare benefits, health and personal issues: all allowing service users to work towards independent living.

You will provide practical advice and support in order that they might develop their skills and work towards maximising their independence. Experience in working with vulnerable young people is essential and you should be able to work as part of a team or unsupervised and on your own initiative.
