Job summary

The Enablement Transition Officer - Young People role involves providing practical support on accommodation, life skills, welfare benefits, and health issues to help service users achieve independent living.

A driver’s license is essential, with a roadworthy vehicle and business insurance.

• Provide support and advice around accommodation, basic life skills, welfare benefits, health and personal issues to service users to help them work towards independent living.
• Encourage independence, form trusted relationships and make a genuine difference in young people’s lives.
• Flexibility to move within houses as necessary and to meet the needs of the service.

Job description

Salary: £26,968.50 - £27,787.50 Per annum after probation

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week plus 1 contracted sleep in, on a flexible rota covering 7 days a week and will include alternate weekends, bank holidays. Additional payments of £70 for each Sleep in.

All about the role

As an Enablement Transition Officer - Young People, you will provide support and advice around accommodation, basic life skills, welfare benefits, health and personal issues: all allowing service users to work towards independent living.

You will provide practical advice and support in order that they might develop their skills and work towards maximising their independence. Experience in working with vulnerable young people is essential and you should be able to work as part of a team or unsupervised and on your own initiative.
