Mai Sushi in Ellesmere Port is recruiting a full-time Chef Manager (35 hours) to lead our team at Mai Sushi - Cheshire Oaks, Stanney Woods Avenue, Ellesmere Port, CH65 9GZ. We seek an enthusiastic leader with a can-do attitude who delivers high-quality, sustainable food and excellent customer service.

You will guide a team, ensure food safety compliance, follow brand standards, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the kiosk team to meet audit standards for food safety and hygiene.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness and safe food handling on site.
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish.
• Be an early riser; shifts can start at 6:00am.
• Learn new skills and improve existing ones.

Job description

Mai Sushi is recruiting a full-time (35 hours) Chef Manager to come and lead our team in Mai Sushi - Cheshire Oaks, Stanney Woods Avenue, Ellesmere Port, CH65 9GZ.

Key responsibilities / experience

• Experience in leading people, who can build confidence and capability in your team enabling them to succeed
• Ready to work in a fast-paced environment whilst always leading by example
• Pride in your work, constantly looking for ways to improve and continually learning
• A good understanding of Food Safety & Health and Safety regulations, ability to follow brand standards and comply with company policies.
• Reliable transportation for your commute to work early in the morning
• Be accountable for the Kiosk and the team, maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance while meeting EHO expectations
• Ensuring the team maintains a high standard of cleanliness and food safety on site to maintain a safe environment for our customers, our clients and ourselves
• Highly organised, with a focus on forward planning
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish products each shift
• Accurately labelling products ensuring lawful compliance around food safety and allergen compliance each shift
• Be a skilled multitasker
• An early riser as shifts can start at 6:00am some days
• Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered

Qualifications

Level 2 Food Safety certificate, HACCP, Allergens and COSHH are Desirable although not essential as full training will be provided.
