Job summary

Sushi Gourmet is recruiting a full-time Chef Manager to lead our team at Sushi Gourmet - Shrewsbury Sainsbury's, Meole Brace retail park. The role requires early starts, a passion for high-quality, sustainable food, and strong leadership within a fast-paced environment.

You will manage the kiosk, uphold health and safety regulations, and train staff to meet brand standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kiosk and the team, maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance.
• Ensure the team maintains high standards of cleanliness and food safety on site.
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish each shift.
• Accurately label products ensuring allergen compliance.
• Be an early-riser with shifts starting at 6:00am when required.
• Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered.

• Experience in leading people, who can build confidence and capability in your team enabling them to succeed
• Ready to work in a fast-paced environment whilst always leading by example
• Pride in your work, constantly looking for ways to improve and continually learning
• A good understanding of Food Safety & Health and Safety regulations, ability to follow brand standards and comply with company policies.
• Reliable transportation for your commute to work early in the morning

• Be accountable for the Kiosk and the team, maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance while meeting EHO expectations
• Ensuring the team maintains a high standard of cleanliness and food safety on site to maintain a safe environment for our customers, our clients and ourselves
• Highly organised, with a focus on forward planning
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish products each shift
• Accurately labelling products ensuring lawful compliance around food safety and allergen compliance each shift.
• Be a skilled multitasker
• An early riser as shifts can start at 6:00am some days
• Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered

Qualifications

Qualifications

Level 2 Food Safety certificate, HACCP, Allergens and COSHH are Desirable although not essential as full training will be provided.
