Job summary

Thirteen Group is seeking an Empty Homes Service Operative to join our Repairs team. You’ll clean empty properties to make sure they are safe, fresh and ready for new customers to call home, and carry out pre-cleans before repair work begins to help access properties safely and ensuring work can progress smoothly.

The role requires a good understanding of cleaning practices and health and safety, a full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across our operational areas.

Qualifications

• Understanding of cleaning practices and health and safety requirements.
• Pride in delivering high-quality work and preparing homes to a consistently good standard.
• Basic level of education with literacy and numeracy skills suitable for the role.
• Holds a full UK driving licence and is able to travel extensively across our operational areas.
• Able to use mobile devices and digital tools effectively.
• Organised and able to prioritise work, flexible across locations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out thorough cleaning of empty homes after repairs to ensure safety and readiness for customers.
• Complete pre-cleans when required to provide safe access before repairs begin.
• Clean rooms, floors, surfaces, fixtures, fittings, windows, doors, bathrooms and kitchens to the required standards.
• Use cleaning products, equipment, PPE and vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Inspect properties after cleaning, report hazards or issues, and ensure standards are met.
• Collaborate with empty homes teams, planners, supervisors, inspectors and contractors to support property handovers.
