Job summary

Peabody is seeking an Outreach Support Worker to cover Harlow and Epping in Essex, with base at Pitsea. The role is part time (16.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and hybrid/community-based, focusing on empowering vulnerable individuals to maintain tenancies and access welfare support.

You’ll visit customers at home, assist with tenancy sustainment, welfare benefits navigation, and liaise with external agencies. DBS check and driving licence required. Interviews at Pitsea.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supportive role (professional or voluntary).
• Experience with individuals facing mental health, health-related or employment challenges.
• Understanding housing support needs and welfare benefits.
• Ability to provide pre-tenancy advice and ongoing tenancy support.
• Clear communication and confident problem-solving.
• Holds a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Visit customers in their homes to help sustain tenancies and build life skills.
• Assist with navigating welfare benefits, accessing services and building confidence.
• Liaise with external agencies to ensure timely support.
• Provide crisis intervention with empathy and professionalism.
