Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking an Outreach Support Worker in Colchester for a permanent, full-time role. You will visit clients in their homes across Colchester and Tendring, helping sustain tenancies and build life skills, while assisting with welfare benefits and service access.

Role requires a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with DBS clearance. Mon-Fri 9-5, £25k per annum. Precise duties include liaising with partners and supporting independence.

Qualifications

• Experience (paid or voluntary) in a support role.
• Background in working with people facing mental health, health-related, or employment challenges.
• Understanding of housing support needs and welfare benefits.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients in their homes to help maintain tenancies and develop life skills.
• Support individuals with welfare benefits, accessing local services, and building confidence.
• Provide pre-tenancy advice and ongoing tenancy support.
• Liaise with external agencies to ensure appropriate support is in place.
• Offer crisis intervention when required.
• Promote independence and resilience rather than providing personal care.
