Job summary

Target Housing Ltd in Doncaster is seeking a Housing Support Worker to help people sustain tenancies, develop independence, and achieve personal goals on Morley Road. You will deliver practical housing support and work with partners to maximise outcomes in a person-centred way.

This is a permanent, full-time role, with a seven-day rota (no nights), DBS required, and strong emphasis on safeguarding, budgeting, income maximisation, and collaboration with local authorities and health professionals

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the welfare benefits system.
• Experience in risk assessment and support planning.
• Experience working with vulnerable adults/supported living.
• Understanding of relevant legislation.
• Experience working with Local Authorities and health/social care professionals.
• Health and Social Care qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support people with moving in and out of accommodation.
• Deliver person-centred support plans and achieve outcomes within timescales.
• Build service users’ skills, confidence and independence.
• Work with partner agencies to enhance service delivery.
• Support a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment.
• Provide guidance on independent living skills, budgeting and maximizing income.
• Assist with benefit claims and rent payments.
• Ensure occupancy agreement understanding and compliance.
• Monitor property use and address issues promptly.
• Identify and respond to non-compliance and escalate concerns.
• Carry out risk assessments and review support plans.
• Support conflict resolution between people and neighbours.
• Assist with activities that promote engagement and development.
• Maintain records in line with audit and confidentiality requirements.
