Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council invites applications for a permanent Day Opportunities Support Worker. You will work with adults with learning disabilities or dementia at two Wolverhampton sites, delivering person-centred support that promotes independence and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adults with learning disabilities or dementia.
• Commitment to choice, involvement and person-centred support.
• Willingness to work hours 8.45am-4.10pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Share our commitment to empowering individuals through choice and involvement
• Identify and create opportunities for community interaction
• Develop innovative ways to motivate and encourage participation in daily routines
• Promote independence while enabling individuals to have control over their lives
• Provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred support
• Bring experience of working within Health & Social Care services
• Have a background in supporting adults in community-based settings
