Job summary

Hft is seeking a committed Support Worker to empower learning disabled adults to live life their way. You’ll help with daily activities, personal care, and community involvement, while building confidence and independence.

You’ll work with a warm, inclusive team that values wellbeing and growth. This role offers training and support as you learn and develop in Health and Social Care, with shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Patience and respect for people’s choices.
• Positive, encouraging approach to support.
• Strong communication to build trust with individuals.
• Willingness to learn and work towards a Health and Social Care qualification.
• Confidence providing personal support when needed.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, waking and sleep-in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Encourage participation in social, leisure, work and community activities.
• Promote health, safety and wellbeing while respecting decisions.
• Support people to attend health appointments and manage medication confidently.
• Build independence step by step, developing new skills and self-belief.
• Stand alongside people to manage daily life and personal care when needed.
• Keep accurate records and follow safeguarding practices.
