Job summary

Southdown Housing Association seeks a compassionate Support Worker in Brighton to help adults with learning disabilities live independently and with dignity. You will assist with daily living tasks, support mobility, and encourage participation in community activities, including walks on the beach and social outings.

Training is provided, DBS check funded by Southdown, and you’ll join a dedicated team within a not-for-profit provider of housing, care and support across Sussex.

Qualifications

• Patient and empathetic mindset.
• Complete Southdown health and social care training.
• Willingness to support intimate/personal care.
• Ability to assist with mobility and daily living tasks.
• DBS check provided by Southdown.

Responsibilities

• Support people with learning disabilities to live full, happy lives.
• Assist clients with daily living tasks and personal care.
• Encourage community engagement and outings (beach, cinema, shops, cafés).
• Model positive behaviour support and promote emotional wellbeing.
• Ensure client safety and support within Southdown Court.
