Job summary

Southdown is recruiting a Support Worker in Brighton to help adults with learning disabilities live fuller, more independent lives. You will work within Southdown Court to support daily tasks, accompany clients on community activities and provide compassionate care in a respectful, empowering way.

The role offers a permanent contract, 30–37 hours per week, and an on-site location at Southdown Court, Brighton. An enhanced DBS is required and paid for by Southdown.

Qualifications

• A patient, empathetic mindset.
• Willing to complete Southdown health and social care training including safeguarding, moving and handling, and risk management.
• Comfort with assisting with intimate and personal care.
• Ability to support mobility and daily living tasks.
• DBS check funded by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as cleaning, cooking and personal care.
• Help clients access community activities like walks, cinema, shopping and cafes.
• Promote wellbeing and positive behaviour through respectful, empowering care.
