Job summary

Southdown is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for the Alinora service in Worthing, to help adults with learning disabilities live independently and with dignity. You will support daily living tasks and encourage community involvement through activities such as walks, cinema, shopping and cafe visits.

Full training is provided; no prior experience required. 24–37 hours per week with shifts and benefits including health-cost cashback and DBS being paid for by Southdown.

Qualifications

• A patient, empathetic approach.
• Willingness to support intimate and personal care needs.
• Enhanced DBS check (paid for by Southdown).
• Completion of Southdown’s training in health & social care, moving and handling, safeguarding, and health protocols.

Responsibilities

• Encourage clients to connect with community through activities and social outings.
• Support daily living tasks including cooking, cleaning and personal care.
• Build clients’ confidence and independence through empowering, person-centred care.
