Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant in Sunderland to support students aged 11-18 with Autism / ASD and other educational needs. You will work alongside teaching staff to provide individual and classroom support, helping pupils engage, develop independence and maintain positive behaviour.

The role is long or short-term with market-leading pay rates and a PAYE payroll. Experience with Autism/ASD and strong communication are essential, with a patient, proactive and resilient

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with Autism / ASD and additional educational needs.
• Experience supporting secondary-aged students is desirable.
• Patient and supportive approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
• Positive, proactive and resilient attitude.
