Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-18 in Darlington and Middlesbrough. The role involves classroom and individual support, helping students with learning, communication and behaviour, with some required personal care.

Salary ranges from £90 to £100 per day, paid PAYE. The position offers ongoing opportunities and access to CPD courses through the My-Progression channel, with dedicated consultants available 24/7.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with Autism / ASD and additional educational needs.
• Experience supporting secondary-aged students is desirable.
• Confidence providing personal care where required.
• Strong communication skills and a patient approach.
• The ability to adapt support to individual student needs.
• A positive, proactive and resilient attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and individual support, assist students with their learning and communication.
• Promote positive behaviour and independence, and provide personal care where required.
