Job summary

Pembrokeshire Direct Payments is seeking a friendly Personal Assistant to support a Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire with their care needs. The role involves assisting with daily living tasks, appointment support, and promoting independence.

You will work closely with the client to encourage decision-making, social engagement, and safeguarding, while maintaining a safe and supportive home environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the person with showering and dressing.
• Support with food shopping trips.
• Support to attend appointments.
• Maintain and develop independence for the employer.
• Enable the employer to interact socially in their community.
• Provide support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest.
• Support the employer to develop independent living skills.
• Provide companionship in the employer’s home, including conversation and social interaction.
• Ensure the employer’s safety at all times during working hours.
• Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours.
• Be mindful of safeguarding issues and feedback any concerns to the relevant authority.
• Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.
